CO-OP Student of the Month of July 2019
The summer that followed my first year, I started my CO-OP journey at Klipfolio, where I worked as UI Engineering Intern helping prototype designs at the company. After that experience, I discovered what kind of work I enjoyed to do and settled on work that allowed me to bridge my love for UI/UX Design and Programming. This experience speaks for the nature of CO-OP, in that it is an experience that allows you to figure out what kind of work you enjoy sooner rather than later. After that experience, I committed to learning about design and landed my second internship working as an Interaction Design Intern at a digital design agency in Toronto called Pilot Interactive. After that, I moved back to Ottawa and took up another internship working at a startup in the region, Transparent Kitchen, as a Product Design Intern. Now, for the summer, I'm working at Facebook also as a Product Design Intern in Menlo Park, California.
In the future, I'm hoping to do some more internships either back at Facebook or companies like Lyft or Airbnb. I'm hopeful I can explore some other cities like Seattle or New York.
